Cristen is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified School Counselor in the State of Connecticut with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology. I have experience working with adults, children, and adolescents in a variety of mental health settings; including community- based outpatient services, school, and an acute inpatient behavioral health hospital. This clinical work extends to those seeking treatment for anxiety, depression, mood and adjustment disorders, substance abuse disorders, and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. I utilize a variety of approaches including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and additional modalities to provide strengths-based care to address clients concerns and challenges; including anxiety, depression, development and life transitions, and various areas of trauma.
Cristen's clinical background and training highlight my passion for working with many different populations across a spectrum of multicultural, socioeconomic, and LGBTQ communities. Using a person-centered approach with an empathetic and respectful foundation helps me to build a strong therapeutic relationship with clients, thereby fostering their own
personal insight and continued growth throughout treatment.
