Self-Acceptance

It turns out that being kind to yourself is a big deal.


Self acceptance and being kind to your self can go a long, long, long way to building resiliency, over coming depression, increasing productivity and reducing anxiety not to mention boosting confidence and reducing stress.


So why is it so hard?


We want nothing more than for our children to love and accept themselves, we want our friends to love and accept themselves- heck, we even want the clerk at the grocery store to love and accept himself- so why is it so difficult for some people to release judgment and nurture kindness toward their own selves?


The answer to this question is part socio-cultural, part science and part how we, as individuals , make meaning out of our experiences- starting from our first stage of development all the way through adult hood.
